In chapters 1-7 the main character jimmy is in the car with the his little brother in the back seat and his ex-girlfriend, leslie who was he was in love with and still is. In the car leslie finally asks jimmy why he broke up with her in the first place if he was in love with her. Jimmy has always been a troubled kid and has been in and out of jail. He was set to go to jail any day now. So he goes ahead and calls leslie to watch if she could meet up with him to hang out. They are now al in the car and leslie has now asked him why they broke up in the first place. After the third time he starts yelling the reason why he brooke up with her. saying that he wanted to spare her the painof having a boyfriend in jail that you cant really see when you want to. when he says what he has to stay he says "i love you" and that really made leslie say that she has always loved jimmy. Jim and billy dont really talk about their father so they just avoid that topic altogether. Leslie also remind jimmy if is dead sister, mindy, because if the way that she looks and acts at times. Now in chapter 6 leslie want him to meet someone with the same name as his sister and he treats the girl not very weel and step outside and starts to cry.

Reaction
I thought that so far jimmy is trying to live everyday and to get any last mitue saying to anyone before he goes out. And when he tells leslie what he has to say he feels so much better about them and now he doesnt know whether she will wait for him but she now knows the reason why for everything. i also think that all of this has to do with his father issue becasue they rarely communicate with each other that jimmy doesnt know how to do that with other peole around him.
